Most of our residential installs pair an epoxy base coat with a polyaspartic topcoat — you get epoxy’s color depth and polyaspartic’s speed and UV stability in one system.

Get a Free Estimate- Not strictly “better” — different. Polyaspartic cures faster and resists UV better, but epoxy is more affordable and offers deeper color/flake options. Most of our floors actually use both: epoxy base, polyaspartic topcoat.
- Yes — it’s what we install most often. An epoxy base coat (with or without flake) sealed under a clear polyaspartic topcoat gives you epoxy’s color depth with polyaspartic’s UV stability and faster cure.
- Usually not. Polyurea’s extra toughness matters most for forklift traffic and industrial chemical exposure — a residential garage rarely sees enough abuse to justify the added cost over a flake epoxy or polyaspartic system.
- Polyurea, typically 4–12 hours to return to service. Polyaspartic follows close behind at 6–24 hours. Straight epoxy is the slowest, often needing 24–72 hours before it’s ready for vehicle traffic.
